The Identity Management Leadership Group (IMLG) works to identify issues, develop policies, and assist with setting priorities associated with identity management on campus. The mission of the IMLG is to provide guidance and leadership concerning campus-wide identity management issues and initiatives.
Identity management refers to the policies, processes and technologies by which the identities of persons are validated, registered and maintained by the institution; it is the critical foundation for secure authentication and authorization to services and applications.
The IMLG is responsible for defining identity-management process roles and responsibilities for obtaining access to information and services, establishing criteria about how decisions are made, coordinating and negotiating access to information and services, and seeking efficiencies, especially in the area of eliminating duplicative cards for ID and security purposes.
