STDNT STUDY ABROAD

DATA VIEW NAME
STDNT_STUDY_ABROAD
OVERVIEW
All students who have been registered on campus for participation on a UW-Madison-sponsored international program. Each Administrative Unit sponsoring an international program is responsible for registering UW participants through the Office of the Registrar. Only those students who have been properly registered will appear in this dataview.

Although some data for the 1970’s (terms 0722-0794) are present, they are incomplete. Data for 1979-85 (terms 0802-0856) are better, though still incomplete. For best results, use terms >= 0862 for academic year and semester programs (fall and spring), and use terms >= 0906 for summer programs. Note: Most other Retention views start with data >= 0856.

SPECIAL
CONSIDERATIONS
1) Certain Study Agreement Codes are not shown in this view. They are: CIC, HEC-FIT, ED-OT-INTR, and ED-PT-INTR.

2) This query does not count UW-Madison students who studied abroad on a program sponsored by another university. Students who study on a “non-Madison program” must present a transcript to the UW-Madison Admissions Office for evaluation of transfer credits. Those students are coded differently for their international program.
