DAPIR’s Institutional Research & Decision Support (IRDS) team welcomes two new staff members—Kassie Bentzinger and Jonathan Hanes.
In mid-November, Kassie Bentzinger joined the DAPIR office as a BI Developer. Alongside BI Developer Jessica Liu, Kassie will serve as a campus leader and resource for Tableau, including responding to questions from developers and users, administering the Tableau server, and developing resources and tools to support DAPIR and units across campus. Kassie’s email address is kassie.bentzinger@wisc.edu if you need to contact her directly. For general BI Developer support, reach out to bihelp-dapir@provost.wisc.edu.
Kassie is interested in the BI Developer role because it combines all the things she is passionate about in her professional career. She enjoys solving data puzzles and using her technical and analytical skills to make information more accessible and meaningful. Before joining DAPIR, Kassie worked at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business as a Business Data Analyst. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (2021) from the University of Utah.
Kassie lives in Utah with her husband, 18-month-old son, two dogs, and one cat. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, adventuring outdoors, and attending hockey games. Go Mammoth!
Jonathan Hanes, Institutional Policy Analyst, is starting today, Monday, December 1. He will join our existing analysts in collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting institutional data to inform strategic, academic, and budgetary planning decisions. The topical focus of this position will be on undergraduate student enrollment, admissions, financial aid, and outcomes. You can reach Jonathan at jhanes2@wisc.edu.
Jonathan loves using data and research methods to yield insights that help inform decision-making. Before joining DAPIR, he worked in the Office of Assessment & Institutional Research at UW-Milwaukee for over 12 years, first as a Research Analyst and then as Director. Jonathan earned a bachelor’s degree in Geography from UW-Stevens Point and a PhD in Geography from UW-Milwaukee. He served as an Assistant Professor of Earth, Environmental and Geographical Sciences at Northern Michigan University.
When he is not engaged in institutional research, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his wife, their four kids, and their dog, and serving in their church community.
