OVERVIEW
This view contains student demographic information, for each student registered, for the two prior terms, the current term and up to two future terms. Students who have withdrawn or are deceased are also included but have been identified accordingly.
LOAD FREQUENCY
A FERPA indicator is provided in this view and it is the users responsibility to check this indicator if the information is being considered for release.

Data will be refreshed nightly (Monday through Friday).

Updated code and documentation to make sure Citizen_Status=7 are dealt with appropriately. Fields impacted were: Citizen_Status, Citizen_Ind, Country_of_Citizenship, Ethnic_Group, Diversity, Diversity_Descr, Targeted_Minority, and Minority.

Admit_Type changed to make sure EOR admit types are shown. Also when reviewing the ethnicity detail when setting Targeted Minority it was decided it was not necessary to look for Ethniciy_Primary = Y but instead look for any row for the student with the Ethnic Code ACAMLAOV.

Key fields are identified with an asterisk (*) Field Formats describe the field type and length.
VARCHAR2 (N) (N) = maximum length. Field contains letters and/or numbers. Trailing blanks are eliminated.
Example: VARCHAR2 (5) could contain ‘ABC12’ or ‘ABC’ or ‘A’
NUMBER (N) (N) = length. Field contains only numbers.
NUMBER (X,Y) = format for numbers with decimal positions. X = total number of digits and Y = the number of digits after the decimal.
Examples: NUMBER (6) represents 250012 NUMBER (6,2) represents 2500.12DATE = Date can be in various formats. Date functions available with your query tool can be used to format the date.

*ID VARCHAR2 11 ISIS personal Identifier. The ID will never be changed throughout the individual’s relationship with the University. This is not the same as Campus_ID. Only 10 characters are in use.
CAMPUS_ID VARCHAR2 16 This is simply a unique student identifier (10 digits). It may change occasionally at the student’s request.
NAME VARCHAR2 50 The student’s preferred name. Note: this field is current as of the Refresh date posted in the last field, EXTRACT_DATE_TIME.
Format: Last First Middle. This may be case sensitive with some query tools.
FERPA_FLAG VARCHAR2 1 Restricted information indicator.
Y = information restricted.
DECEASED_IND VARCHAR2 1 Indicates a student is deceased. Flagged the term they died and any term after (if enrolled).

S = Special (not enrolled in any degree program)
CAREER VARCHAR2 4 The type of academic career in which the student is currently enrolled.
Values are:
UGRD = Undergraduate
GRAD = Graduate
VMED = Veterinary Medicine Professional
LAW = Law Professional
MEDS = Medical Professional
PHAR = Pharmacy Professional
USPC = University Special Students

CAREER_DESCR VARCHAR2 30 The description of the student’s career.
GENDER VARCHAR2 1 The student’s sex.
Values are:
F=Female
M= Male
U= Unknown.
AGE NUMBER 2 The students age as of the first day of classes for Fall of Spring; for Summer, the first day of the eight-week session.
CITIZEN_IND VARCHAR2 1 Indicates whether a student is a US citizen (citizen_status = 1 or 2).
Values are:
Y = US Citizen
N = Not a US Citizen
U = Unknown (citizen_status = U or NULL)
CITIZEN_STATUS VARCHAR2 1 The student’s citizenship status.
Valid values are:
1 = Native
2 = Naturalized
3 = Alien Permanent
4 = Alien Temporary
5 = Alien
6 = Refugee
7 = Domestic, status pending
U = Unknown
RESIDENCY VARCHAR2 1 Indicates whether the student is a Wisconsin resident in their first term.
Values are:
R = Student is a resident
N = Student is not a resident
U = FISC Wisconsin Resident
TUITION_RESIDENCY VARCHAR2 1 Indicates the residency status of a student for tuition purposes. A tuition reciprocity agreement exists between Minnesota and Wisconsin. Some non-resident students from Minnesota pay fees comparable to the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus, based on a designated formula.
Values are:
N = non-Wisconsin resident
R = Wisconsin resident
S = Minnesota compact student
U = FISC Wisconsin Resident
VISA_PERMIT_TYPE VARCHAR2 3 Identifies the type of entry into this country granted to the student. To identify codes contact the Office of International Students and Scholars.

COUNTRY_OF_CITIZENSHIP VARCHAR2 3 Abbreviation for country of citizenship.

ACADEMIC_LOAD VARCHAR2 1 Indicates if a student is full time, ‘F’, or part time, ‘P’. For undergrads and special students, full-time means 12 or more credits. More specifically, students who don’t meet the criteria for part-time (below) are considered full-time. Part-time status in the Registrar’s Enrollment Report, means:

HIGH_SCHOOL_CODE VARCHAR2 11 The high school from which the student graduated. Use the InfoAccess look-up table, UW_HIGH_SCHOOL_CODES, for translation of this code. These codes are also found in the InfoAccess table, UW.PREVIOUS_INSTITUTION_CODES.
HIGH_SCHOOL_PERCENTILE NUMBER 3 The student’s percentile rank based on their high school GPA.
MATRICULATION_TERM VARCHAR2 4 The term a student was first enrolled at UW-Madison in a non-special career.
DEG_EXPECTED VARCHAR2 1 Indicates the student is expecting a degree or planning to attend commencement in the current term.

C = not graduating, but planning to attend commencement

TERM_CREDITS_TOTAL NUMBER(8,3) The total of all credits “”earned”” by the student in a given term. This total includes credits that are passed, transfer, test, and other credits. Excluded are audits, credits with final grades not considered to be passed, and in-progress credits (unreported grades, P’s, I’s, etc.). NOTES: The value may change as grades are posted or changed. For graduate students, the value represents the number of credits earned (passed) toward a graduate degree (excluding pass/fail, audits, and courses below the 300 level).

TERM_TAKEN_CREDITS_GPA NUMBER(8,3) The portion of the credits taken on the Madison campus in the previous term that are used to calculate a student’s semester GPA. This excludes courses taken pass/fail, credit/no-credit. This field will not contain course credits for Pass/Fail courses, Audit Credit courses, or courses with grades other than A, AB, B, BC, C, D, F, NW (no work). This will include “In Progress” credits. Transfer credits are excluded.

TERM_GRADE_POINTS NUMBER(9,3) The total (i.e. sum of the) number of Grade Points earned by the student in the given semester which are used to compute the student’s grade point average for the given semester on the UW-Madison campus.
NOTES: The Grade Points earned by a student for a given course are the credits for the course multiplied by the numerical grade received by the student: A = 4.0; AB = 3.5; B = 3.0; BC = 2.5; C = 2.0; D = 1.0; F = 0.0; NW=0.0.
TERM_GPA NUMBER(8,3) The TERM_GRADE_POINTS divided by TERM_TAKEN_CREDITS_GPA. Contains zero for students who failed all courses; contains Nulls when the GPA has not been determined.
CUM_CREDITS_TOTAL NUMBER(8,3) The total credits earned by the student up to and including the given term. This should be the sum of all the TERM_CREDITS_TOTAL for all terms in the given career up to and including the present term. It includes transfer, test and other credits as well as UW-Madison credits.
CUM_TAKEN_CREDITS_GPA NUMBER(8,3) This should be the sum of all the TERM_TAKEN_CREDITS_GPA for all terms in the same career up to and including the given term.
CUM_TRANSFER_CREDITS NUMBER(8,3) This should be the sum of all the transfer credits for all terms in the same career up to and including the given term. This does not include test and other credits.
CUM_TEST_CREDITS NUMBER(8,3) This should be the sum of all the test credits for all terms in the same career up to and including the given term. Some examples are CEEB, AP, and credits by examination.
CUM_OTHER_CREDITS NUMBER(8,3) This should be the sum of all the other credits for all terms in the same career up to and including the given term. An example is retroactive credits.
CUM_ GRADE_POINTS NUMBER(9,3) This should be the sum of all the TERM_GRADE_POINTS for all terms in the same career up to and including the given term. For the current term the value may change as grades are posted.
CUM _GPA NUMBER(6,3) The CUM_GRADE_POINTS divided by CUM_TAKEN_CREDITS_GPA. Contains zero for students who failed all courses; contains Nulls when the GPA has not been determined.
NOTES: This is the Grade Point Average for all work completed at UW-Madison.
PREVIOUS_TERM_GPA NUMBER(8,3) The most recent non-null GPA prior to the given term. Not populated for new Freshmen.
PREVIOUS_GPA_TERM VARCHAR2 4 The code for the most recent term enrolled.
CLASS_RANK_NUMBER NUMBER 5 The student’s GPA rank within their academic level and academic group within the given term.
CLASS_RANK_TOTAL NUMBER 5 The total number of students in the given student’s academic level and academic group within the given term.
NEGATIVE_SERVICE_IND VARCHAR2 1 Indicated whether a student has a negative service indicator placed on their record.
Values are:
Y = yes
otherwise, nullIf the value is Y, the student may have one or more negative service indicators. Please look in ISIS to determine how many and which indicators have been placed on a students record.
SEMESTER_HONORS1 VARCHAR2 6 A student’s Dean’s Honors action as it stands at the end of a semester, either an indication of Honors. The view retrieves the first 2 actions for the given term.
Examples of Deans’ Action Codes include:
DNHHL = Dean’s High Honors
DNHL = Dean’s Honor List
DNLST = Dean’s List
GOOD = Congratulations-Good Semester
HHNRL = High Honor Roll
HNRRL = Honor Roll
SOHHNR = Sophomore High Honors

SPORT_CODE1 VARCHAR2 3 The code for the first sport listed for a participating student athlete.
SPORT_CODE1_DESCR VARCHAR2 30 The description for the first sport listed for a participating student athlete.
ATHLETE_CODE1 VARCHAR2 5 The code for the team for the first sport listed for a participating student athlete.
Example: The sport code is HO, Ice Hockey; the team codes are MIH, Men’s Ice Hockey or WIH, Women’s Ice Hockey.
