Each year, UW–Madison is required to submit reports to various government bodies, accreditors, and other organizations. DAPIR plays a role in the creation of many of these reports.
Legislative Accountability Report metrics
Since 2011, Wisconsin statutes have required UW–Madison to submit an annual Legislative Accountability Report to the State Legislature. Statutes require the report to include metrics in several topic areas, including:
- Access and affordability: financial aid, costs for Wisconsin residents, and mean family income.
- Undergraduate and graduate education: number of degrees awarded, majors offered, and post-graduation success.
- Economic development: revenue brought to Wisconsin, patents and licenses for inventions, and jobs created.
This year’s report is based on data for 2024-25 or the most recent data available through the end of the 2025 calendar year. There were no changes to required metrics for this year’s report, but the legislature can modify future requirements. Past reports are available.
Campus partners
While DAPIR is responsible for meeting the legislative requirement, it cannot do so without partnerships with others across campus to gather and verify the required information.
Universities of Wisconsin
The Universities of Wisconsin Administration is required to submit an equivalent report that includes the other system schools.
