Meet our newest staff members, Wendy Gordon (Business Analyst) and Eric Gentz (Data Systems Administrator), who joined DAPIR’s Enterprise Data Management team last month.
In late December, Wendy Gordon joined DAPIR as a Business Analyst. Wendy previously worked for UW-Madison, and after a brief stint as a Senior Application Analyst with Exact Sciences, she returned to UW-Madison as a Business Analyst on DoIT’s Low Code Solutions team. Wendy believes that DAPIR’s role will provide plenty of learning opportunities and allow her to continue working with stakeholders. In addition to serving as the primary point of contact with customers, Wendy also gathers requirements, creates documentation, and participates in the design and test planning for data projects.
While not at work, Wendy enjoys spending time with her 9-year-old son, their two dogs, and their cat. She loves music, good food, and warm sunny days. Wendy can be contacted at wendy.gordon@wisc.edu
At the end of January, Eric Gentz transitioned to the DAPIR office from his previous role with the Office of Student Financial Aid. In his 24 years at UW-Madison, Eric has worked with all three Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems on campus and some major reporting systems. He enjoys collaborating with peers to develop creative solutions for challenging business issues and looks forward to continuing that with DAPIR.
As a Data Systems Administrator, Eric is responsible for the core administration of physical and virtual warehouses, data lakes, and related data systems. Eric manages the performance and financial operations for these data systems, working closely with the Data Architect and Data Governance teams to ensure that data is secured according to UW’s policies and best practices.
Eric enjoys time with family, wandering around in nature, and playing board games while not at work. Contact Eric at eric.gentz@wisc.edu
