DAPIR’s Institutional Research & Decision Support (IRDS) team welcomes two new staff members—Jessica Liu and Tracy Reuter
At the end of February, Jessica Liu joined the DAPIR office as a BI Developer, filling the vacancy left by Mehrnaz Joobaneh. Jessica will serve as a campus leader and resource for Tableau, including responding to questions from developers and users, administering the Tableau server, and developing resources and tools to support DAPIR and units across campus. Jessica will also lead the Tableau Developer Community meetings.
Jessica is a UW–Madison alumna with over 5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and digital transformation across diverse global industries such as biotech and manufacturing. This position perfectly aligns with Jessica’s skills and passion for making data accessible and actionable. Jessica can be contacted at jessica.liu@wisc.edu
Outside of work, Jessica is an outdoor enthusiast. For over 15 years, she has played ultimate frisbee. Jessica enjoys hiking and camping and appreciates our amazing national parks. Recently, she added rock climbing outdoors at Devil’s Lake State Park to her outdoor pursuits.
Our inaugural Data Scientist, Tracy Reuter, is starting today, Monday, March 3. Building partnerships to promote the deliberate use of data is a key part of Tracy’s role. She will prepare data sets for analysis and partner with DAPIR’s Enterprise Data Management team to build new data views as needed. Informed by the work of the policy analysts, Tracy will identify and implement appropriate data science techniques to find data patterns and answer questions. Tracy’s work will include advanced statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
As a UW—Madison alumna with over 10 years of experience distilling data into actionable insights, Tracy’s diverse background in academia, healthcare, and higher education will surely benefit UW–Madison. You can reach Tracy at tereuter@wisc.edu.
