Please welcome Abbie Windsor, DAPIR’s new institutional academic planner. Abbie’s first day is Monday, April 14. Abbie brings almost 14 years of experience in higher education in academic advising and registrar roles. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Legal Studies from UW–Eau Claire and completed her Master of Science in Academic Advising at Kansas State University.
Abbie’s career in academic advising began in July 2011 at UW–Eau Claire before transitioning to the Academic Advising and Exploration Center (AAEC) at UW–Whitewater in 2014. In May 2016, Abbie moved to the Registrar’s Office, where she took on various responsibilities, from Program Manager to Interim Registrar and ultimately Assistant Registrar.
After over a decade in these roles, Abbie is excited to join DAPIR. She has seen curriculum from many different angles, and this role allows her to dive deeper into it—helping design, facilitate, and assist where needed. In her role, Abbie will:
- Coordinate the University Curriculum Committee (UCC).
- Review course proposals and manage annual projects related to the course catalog.
- Participate in activities associated with the publishing of Guide.
Abbie currently resides in Janesville with her partner and dog. They enjoy making the most of life outside of work, traveling, and using their new-to-them camper. Abbie and her partner are also honey bee keepers. They have 15 colonies and are in the final stages of getting their Master Beekeeper certifications. Abbie was added to the Green Bay Packer season ticket list the day she was born and is now a proud season ticket holder.
Abbie can be reached at aiwindsor@wisc.edu. Welcome to the DAPIR team!
